Painting from photographs is a dangerous game. I really don’t care if your canvas took you five years, if you don’t have a great subject, great lighting, great composition and great color balance in your photo, it doesn’t matter if you’re Leonardo Da Vinci, you’re picture is going to suck sphincter. Jumping on the hyperrealism bandwagon really isn’t going to save you either. The cart’s already full of craft show daubers with 60 foot Uncle Freddy paintings.
