It’s so strange to see a beautiful modern-looking person in a painting that was obviously created during a fine art portrait sitting. I normally have this knee-jerk negative reaction to images like these caused from decades of seeing crappy academic portraits hanging on walls all around campus. Nothing wrong with any style – except bad practitioners of it.
Anyway, here is a lady who can blow everyone else out of the water with the deftness and subtlety of her portraiture.
