Nice to see classicism all moderned up with some nice formal surrealist elements. On a completely tangential note, with no shortage of original visual styles like this, it sure makes it obvious how straightlaced live action movies are these days. I know they cost a lot to make, but wow, it’s like they’re completely unprocessed and all shot with the crappy filterless 50mm lense that came with the camera.
