When I think of hyperrealism, I think, how easy when you have photographic technology to assist you. That’s the way I’d do it if I were a painter. But then I see a hyperreal painting I can’t help but cut it down by thinking, oh, that’s just from a photograph, paint-by-pixels.
Then comes a guy like this, Eric Zener, who photographs/paints subjects interesting enough to squeak by that criticism. Makes you think of summer, doesn’t it?
